About

Matthew Malsky's  (b. 1961) compositional style is characterized by its rhythmic vitality, dramatically crafted gestures, melodic angularity, and irony. As a scholar, his research examines, from a psychoanalytic perspective, the intersections of American music, technology and culture in the post-World War II period.

My most recent composition is a new score for Akt 1    of the 1927 slient classic, "Berlin, Symphony of a Great City," which may be viewed at: http://www.clarku.edu/faculty/mmalsky/composer/berlin.html
